Books; books, and more books

Books, Books and More Books
I warned the team.  I told them if we ask for books for the teachers and the kids, beware of the answer.

30 Boxes of Books!

So we packed all of the 60 big books for teachers to use in classes, bibles and Promise books for the orphans, and as many high-interest books for kids as we were allowed by the airlines!  The rest of the books will be shipped in a container in December.

To say the books were well received would be a vast understatement.  The big books were used enthusiastically by teachers within 1 hour of bringing them to the school.  They loved them.

The School Administrator of Harvesters Christian School in Yei, South Sudan  is grateful, and  introduces the books to the teaching staff.

The books were distributed to Harvesters' 2 orphanages in South Sudan - Yei and Terekeka.  Both orphanages received big books and high interest books, donated by the Merton School Community and people in the Elmbook Schools.  In addition, Crossway Church in Germantown donated Promise books to all older orphans in Yei and a bible to each orphan in Terekeka and the younger ones in Yei.

The remaining books being loaded on a semi-trailer "container" bound for Terekeka, the newer orphanage.  School buildings are just being built there.

Stay tuned for more books pictures from Terekeka and Yei!
